Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes’s critically acclaimed Mexican restaurant and bar Santo Remedio will open in early September on the former Magdalen site, at 152 Tooley Street, London Bridge, SE1 2TU.
When Santo Remedio opened in Shoreditch last year it was the first of the new wave Mexican openings to hit London and is still considered by many to be one of the most authentic and exciting. Since closing in September 2016, Edson and Natalie have continued to develop their concept with a series of pop-ups and collaborations and are thrilled to announce the launch of their new, larger site in London Bridge.
The 90-cover Cantina & Comedor is set over two floors and has been designed by Mexican-born Edson and Natalie. The interiors reflect their heritage and include a number of design features hand-picked from recent trips to Mexico City, Merida and Oaxaca.
The ground floor Cantina, a traditional Mexican bar, will focus on Tequila and Mezcal cocktails alongside a range of tacos and snacks. In the upstairs Comedor, a traditional Mexican dining room, Edson will continue to serve up his best loved tacos, alongside the regional Mexican specialties he has become known for.
