Queenswood to open in Battersea in April

February 19, 2015

This April sees the launch of Queenswood, an exciting new neighborhood restaurant and bar from Sax Arshad and Antonio Cardoso, the talented team behind Zanna Group, Soho’s Damson & Co and Manchester’s Mughli restaurants.

This 70 cover, all day restaurant and bar is sure to tick all the right boxes and at the same time break a few boundaries with its incredible range of reasonably priced, well sourced, healthy yet vibrantly exciting dishes with influences taken from all over the globe. There is also a diverse range of vegetarian and vegan dishes that are sure to turn even the hardiest carnivore, for example Vegan green rice in chlorophyll herb stock, spring onion & seaweed, green tea matcha & smoked tofu.

Queenswood Head Chef, Aude Placktor has previously cooked across Paris. Her dishes for Queenswood will feature the likes of Corn & coconut cakes, elephant ear & shitake mushrooms, avocado and almond flakes, Steamed clams, Guadeloupe style with coconut, ginger, chilli, okra & spring onion. Mains include Mirin & wasabi coated cod with sprinkled pistachio, steamed veggie dim sum, soybeans & sake dressing or Goan style lamb chops with curried rice, lime, fresh mint & coriander.

For afters its African cacao & almond milk soufflé or Chai pannacota with macadamia milk & spiced roasted pistachio. There will also be a range of sharing dishes, think salt crusted whole fish, roasted poultry and larger cuts of meat as well as a good selection of breakfast and brunch dishes handpicked again from all over the world.

Queenswood will be open Monday to Sunday, breakfast through to dinner and will also offer a fabulous range of cocktails, bar and terrace dining – once the winter passes, and a stunningly eclectic yet contemporary interior.
