Lobos Meat & Tapas now open

July 21, 2015

LOBOS Meat & Tapas is an exciting new ‘garito’ (Spanish neighbourhood joint), just opened right next to Borough Market. Meaning ‘wolves’ in Spanish, LOBOS is a carnivores’ paradise, focusing on the prime cuts of Iberico pig, milk-fed Castillan lamb and beef from The Ginger Pig alongside a short, classic selection of authentic tapas, sourced from the neighbouring market. The 45-cover restaurant and bar is the first project from chef Roberto Castro, Ruben Maza and Joel Placeres, friends who met working at Tapas Brindisa.

Dishes include: Iberico pork selection with Pork Fillet, Secreto (‘hidden’ cut between the shoulder and the loin) and Pressa (shoulder), Herb crusted lamb rack with parsley, mint, thyme and rosemary, the Lobo bun (marinated pork patty with onion, peppers, candy bacon topped with a fried egg), Baked Tetilla cheese with roasted vegetables and brandy and Migas (Bacon, fried eggs and breadcrumbs).
