
Gunpowder: Explosive Flavours from Modern India is the first cookbook from Harneet and Devina Baweja and Nirmal Save, the trio behind the hit Shoreditch restaurant of the same name. Published by Kyle Books on Thursday, 14th June, it is priced at £25. Beautifully photographed by Peter Cassidy, the book is an inspiring collection of recipes and stories evocative of the authors’ childhoods in Kolkata, surrounded by family and friends.
Gunpowder restaurant gained renown for its home-style modern Indian cooking and the book celebrates this. From the gems and jewels of Harneet, Devina and Nirmal’s family kitchens to market and street food from across India, the book contains around 100 recipes. Above all, the recipes are accessible and easy to make at home.
