An excellent new lunch special – Flatiron and Fries at £15 (for 250g) kicked off new additions to the Fowlow menu. Admittedly, ‘flatiron’ is an American name but the British alternative – Lifter’s Steak did not sound as appealing, especially as the cut was popularised by one of Will’s favourite London steak places, the soho joint of the same name.
Other new menu additions include – after much experimentation (brined, buttermilked, battered, breaded, spiced): Fried Chicken with Habanero Vinegar, alongside Fried Chicken Sandiwch with Kewpie Mayaonnaise and Green Slaw. Dexter Burger, made using the delicious meat from Dexter cows completes the menu, available with thick cut bacon or pulled shortrib.
