Farmopolis Cafe, set in the unique floating garden on the Jetty at Greenwich Peninsula will open on Tuesday, 20 September. It is the second London permanent venue for Kofler and Kompanie, following the 2013 opening of Zaha Hadid Architects’ designed The Magazine restaurant at Serpentine Sackler Gallery. Open six days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and cakes, dinner and weekend brunch, it serves, seasonal food, locally sourced as much as possible. The menu is deliberately kept simple, inspired by and complementing the surroundings.
Farmopolis Café has 80 covers and an outdoor terrace with 40 covers and an events space for up to 600 people. Over the autumn months Farmopolis Café will also launch a series of supper clubs with dates and guest chefs to be confirmed. Urban gardening and adopt a plant schemes are already underway alongside a monthly calendar of events that includes workshops, talks, yoga, arts and crafts classes and children’s theatre performances by Arcola Theatre.
