This spring, Varnishers Yard in Kings Cross will be transforming into quite the Spanish Quarter as Camino launches Bar El Rincón, a new wine and tapas bar next door to Bar Pepito and opposite Camino King’s Cross. Bar El Rincón, meaning ‘bar on the corner’, will open on 4th March as a one-year pop up.
Focusing on sustainability, Bar El Rincón will have a small but perfectly curated selection of drinks. Camino founder and oenophile Richard Bigg has worked with Borough Wines to select a white, red and rosé Spanish wine as well as a sparkling and a sangría, all available only on tap to dramatically reduce waste. Similarly, there will be a choice of two Estrella draught beers alongside a couple of cocktails.
New specials from Camino Executive Chef Nacho del Campo include a vegan superfood salad of Roasted patty pan pumpkin, mixed sprouts, kale and tabbouleh with pumpkin seeds and lemon zest. Camino classics including Arroz negro (black rice with cuttlefish, squid ink and aliolli) and Croquetas de jamón, Gambas Ajillo (prawns with garlic, chilli and white wine) will also be available.
Bar El Rincón will be an intimate, relaxed space with 35-covers including comfortable banquette seating, with exposed brickwork and earthy tones. During the warmer months, there will be additional seating in the courtyard.
