Bibigo to open in Angel Islington in January 2015

December 3, 2014

Bibigo, the popular, authentic and contemporary Soho Korean restaurant will be coming to Islington next year with the launch of Bibigo Angel on St. John Street on 15th January. Bibigo owners, CJ Food, Korea’s biggest food company, have taken over the site of Alan Yau’s Naamya restaurant and have brought in Central Design Studio (Fifteen, Damson & Co) to create an 28-cover lounge bar and 90-cover restaurant.

Bibigo Angel’s interior will be informal, combining contemporary and traditional elements. The central feature of the restaurant will be the Korean grill barbecue allowing diners to see head chef Yongjae Cho and his team in action. Yongjae’s launch menu for Bibigo Angel will include: Chilli Barbecued Pork and Squid and Kimchi Rice with Chicken and Fried Egg.

The separate lounge bar area will feature an innovative drinks menu with cocktails made with soju (Korea’s most popular spirit), created by Bar Manager Raphael Thierry alongside bar snacks inspired by Korean street food.

Korean Head Chef Yongjae Cho has previously launched CJ’s Bibigo restaurants in the US, China, Singapore and Japan while Raphael Thierry won the Imbibe Award for the UK Innovative Wine List of 2013 at Bibigo in Soho.

Bibigo Angel will soft launch in early January 2015 with dates and full details coming soon. In the meantime, follow Bibigo on Twitter: @BibigoLondon or Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BibigoLondon for updates
