100 Islington, a 140-cover pan-Asian restaurant and bar has opened in a prime position at 270 Upper Street, Islington. The bar and restaurant is the second venue from the team behind the super-hit restaurant, 100 Hoxton.
100 Hoxton began life as a passion project; a pan-Asian food-led operation which has evolved over the last two and a half years to become a restaurant, bar and community stalwart with an emphasis on unique flavours, fresh food, healthy eating and creativity. 100 Islington has built on this with a more spacious interior, larger bar and hidden events space at the back of the restaurant.
Once again, the food concept is simple – small sharing plates with influence from Asian and Middle-Eastern flavours, spices and ingredients – East-meets-West at its best.
Mediterranean trained Pinoy Head Chef Francis Puyat, formerly of Yotam Ottolenghi’s West-End masterpiece NOPI, and his team have created an innovative but accessible menu. Francis’s launch a la carte menu features dishes such as Courgette and Halloumi fritter with preserved lemon yoghurt, Singapore soft shell chilli crab, peanut & Lime, Chargrilled lamb belly, aubergine, burnt goats cheese, pine nuts, green tahini & harissa.
